Gutter repairs

Gutter repairs for leaks, sags and loose brackets

Short answer

Most gutter faults are a failed joint, a loose bracket or a run that has lost its fall, not a whole new system. We repair leaking joints, refix brackets and put sagging runs back in line for Dover homes. Repairs are quoted individually, so WhatsApp photos for a free quote.

Common faults

A drip at a joint is the most frequent complaint. Sealant dries out over the years, particularly on sun-facing and exposed walls. Sagging usually means a bracket has worked loose, or the timber behind it has softened. Standing water in the gutter means the run has dropped and no longer slopes towards the outlet.

Sea-air wear

Homes close to the coast take salt and strong winds, and metal brackets and screws age faster as a result. Painted cast iron that has been left may rust at the joints and bolts before the main run shows any sign.

When it is more than a repair

If the fascia board behind the gutter has rotted, a new bracket will not hold, and that needs a joiner before the gutter is refixed. We say so rather than fixing into timber that will fail again. If the whole run is past saving, we tell you that too.

Common questions

Can you repair cast iron gutters?

Often yes. Resealing joints and refixing brackets are routine. Badly corroded sections may need replacing, and we will tell you which.

How much do repairs cost?

Repairs are quoted individually. WhatsApp photos for a free quote.

Is a small drip worth fixing?

Yes. A slow drip keeps one patch of wall wet all winter and is usually simple to fix while it is small.
