Signs of a blocked downpipe
Water pouring over the front of the gutter in rain, a green or black stain running down one stretch of wall, a gurgling sound, or a gully that stays full for hours after the rain stops. On terraces the stain often appears on the neighbour's side too, so it is worth checking both.
